Most of the worlds eyewear is made from acetate. It is a high-quality, durable and beautiful material made from cotton based plastic. So why change it?

In order to turn our raw organic material into acetate, a plasticiser is required. Traditionally, the plasticiser contained diethyl phthalate, a harmful petroleum derivative. These are replaced by a plasticizing solution of vegetable origin, thus making bio-acetate with a remarkable bio-based content. This means when recycled the acetate biodegrades after only 115 days.

Bio-acetate is just as durable as traditional non-bio acetate and with no visual difference.
